Our Story
Cherie and Nina have worked together for the last 5 years in private practice. Both of them came from a public health background. Cherie was in hospitals in Singapore and Australia and Nina in the NHS in the UK. This public and community work remained a central core value for them both. They knew that the private system was inaccessible to many vulnerable or marginalised groups of people and wanted to address this in their work.
Both Cherie and Nina have a great interest in the development of psychological care within Singapore and the psycholgsy profession as a whole. Both have given their time to university work and the Psychological Society. Despite being in a private setting they committed to taking pro bono and low-cost cases and supervising and offering placements within the private context.
The placements grew and so did the reach. They are now at the point where they wanted to dedicate time to the development of an independent soon-to-be non-profit space. Hence The NEST was born.
